Matthew Joseph Shayne Hutchinson, 30, of Katandra Place in Kelso did not appear before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court last week, and the matter was dealt with in his absence.
Hutchinson submitted a guilty plea to the court instructing it he was happy for the matter to proceed in his absence.
The court heard on July 12 this year police sighted Hutchinson’s vehicle at the BP Service Station in Stewart Street.
A subsequent registration check of the car revealed that his licence was suspended.
Police followed the vehicle north along Stewart Street before it turned into Piper Street, where police activated their warning lights and sirens and pulled the vehicle over.
Police approached the car and asked Hutchinson for his driver’s licence, and he replied to the officer “I don’t have one miss, it’s disqualified”.
A police check on the status of his licence revealed his driver’s licence was suspended due to demerit points, from May 2, 2104 to August 8, 2014.
Mr Allen issued the Section 25 (2) warrant, under the Crimes, Sentencing and Procedures Act, for Hutchinson to be brought back before the court for sentencing.
