FOUR patients have been transported to Orange hospital following a two-car accident on the Mitchell Highway, west of Bathurst, around 8.30am on Sunday morning.
Three elderly men in one car all received injuries, including the back-seat passenger who had spinal and chest injuries and was flown by rescue helicopter to Orange.
The male driver had minor injuries, while the front-seat passenger had chest injuries and a severed thumb, which was recovered at the scene.
A 29-year-old female driver, in the other car involved, received spinal and leg injuries in the accident and was transport by road ambulance.
All patients were in a stable condition when they left the accident scene for Orange hospital.

TRAFFIC diversions are now in place around the Mitchell Highway 11 kilometres west of Bathurst following an accident on Sunday morning.
Westbound motorists heading towards Orange should divert at Bathurst and use the Mid Western Highway to Blayney, then use Millthorpe Road to return to the Mitchell Highway.

THE Mitchell Highway has now been closed in both directions west of Bathurst following an earlier accident.
There was two-car accident around 8.30am on Sunday morning at the intersection of the Mitchell Highway and Dunkeld Road, around 11 kilometres west of Bathurst.
Live Traffic NSW website has advised the crash investigation unit is now on scene and has advised motorists to avoid the area.

POLICE, fire and ambulance crews are currently in attendance at a two-car accident west of Bathurst.
The accident occurred around 8.30am on Sunday morning at the intersection of the Mitchell Highway and Dunkeld Road, around 10 kilometres west of the Bathurst.
Paramedics are currently treating people at the scene.
One lane of traffic has been blocked by the accident and motorists are advised to take caution if driving in the area.
