BATHURST is basking in some beautiful spring weather at present, but planning is already underway for next year's Autumn Colours program.
The Bathurst Visitor Information Centre is putting together the Autumn Colours program and wants to hear from anyone who is planning an event.
It could be a market, fete or fair any time in March, April and May 2015. To be included in the program,you just need to provide the details.

Well they were in Bathurst earlier this month filming an episode for their series based around - you guessed it - our Great Race.
No word yet on when it will be screened.

THE Bathurst Netball Association will be conducting training sessions for their representative squads tomorrow afternoon.
Squad training is an essential part of the selection process. If players are unable to attend any training session, they must email bna.reps @ gmail.com to advise of your absence if you wish to remain in consideration for final selection.

12s: 4.30pm - 6.00pm
13s: 5.00pm - 6.30pm

DORRIGO are the new champions after their incredible win by more than 400 points at the Firefighters State Championships.
The championships drew to a close on Saturday after an unbelievable three days of competition in which old records were broken and new ones smashed.
Early in the competition, it appeared that defending champs Kelso Fire and Rescue were going to take it out again after their 2012 victory as they shot to the lead, but it wasn't to be.

WHILE it was good news for Daymond, a nightmare race on Saturday for Bathurst-based pairing Terry Nightingale and Phil Woodbury saw both have their V8 Utes round at the Gold Coast cut short.
The unlucky moments came in the first of the three races for the round, both coming at different ends of the 12-lap event, and the damage suffered from each incident saw the Bathurst pair miss the second race on Sunday.

WELL done to Bathurst's golden girl Jess Daymond.
For the second year in a row, Bathurst goalkeeper Daymond has been selected as part of the Australian All Schools girls soccer side, which will tour the United Kingdom and Ireland in January.
Daymond, who has been plying her trade at club level with the Western NSW Mariners FC side in women's Premier League 2, was part of the NSW Schools side which was undefeated at the national titles earlier this year.

POLICE say they are "very concerned" for the welfare of a 14-year-old boy missing in Woodsdale, south of Oatlands.
Jack Rumsey vanished between 2.45 and 3pm from his south Woodsdale home yesterday.
He was last seen on the road to Buckland, a town south-east of Woodsdale.
A HEAD-ON collision which claimed the life of a Ballarat motorcyclist on Sunday was the start of a tragic day of fatalities on Victoria's roads.
In total, four people died in separate accidents, with 36-year-old's death at Foxhow, north of Camperdown, being the first of the fatalities about 12.55am Sunday.
THE man convicted of murdering NSW Labor MP John Newman in Australia's first political assassination wants the High Court to quash his life sentence.
Phuong Ngo was jailed for life without the possibility of parole or review in November 2001 for ordering the assassination of Mr Newman, his political rival in the Labor Party, in September 1994.

MAKING headlines across the region today:
ORANGE detectives and fire investigators spent yesterday at the scene of a fire in Buna Street, where a house was completely engulfed in flames late on Saturday afternoon.
Sergeant Brenden Turner said police have a suspect and pending the outcome of the forensic examination of the site of the fire, will move forward with their investigation.
THE Planning Assessment Commission's rejection of the amended Coalpac proposals for coal mines at Cullen Bullen will be damaging for the Lithgow economy, NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee has said.
"Coal has been mined in the region for well over a century, and the project was strongly supported by the Lithgow Council, local MP Paul Toole, and the local community, who will bear the brunt of this outcome," Mr Galilee said.
DETECTIVES have footage to assist as they investigate the assault and robbery of a man at a pub at Dubbo at the weekend.
The victim was struck with a glass and sustained a large cut to his head during the altercation at the Castlereagh Hotel.
Yesterday detectives continued their investigation and repeated an appeal for information.

POLICE continued to search bush land in the Oberon area on Sunday for a Belrose man believed to have gone missing following a bushwalk.
Sevak Simonian, aged 21, was last seen about 8pm on Monday 20 October 2014 leaving his Belrose home.
Concerned relatives reported him missing when he had not returned by Thursday.
Mr Simonian is described as being about 180cm tall, with a thin build, olive skin, short black curly hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on Mr Simonian's whereabouts is urged to come forward.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page. Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

MAKING Bathurst news headlines today:
THE people of Bathurst are calling loudly and clearly for a proper Bathurst 1000 street parade to be held as part of Race Week festivities.
In the wake of a poor showing for the annual transporter parade and driver signing during Race Week, a clear message is being sent to Bathurst Regional Council that the community wants a return of the old style parade with floats, bands and marching girls that was such a highlight of Race Week in years past.
THE number of drivers detected speeding through school zones in the Chifley area has increased by more than 60 per cent in a little over one year.
Five-hundred and twenty seven drivers were caught by police in the last financial year, costing motorists a staggering $144,620 in fines, compared with 322 drivers in the previous year who shelled out just over $80,000 for infringement notices.
SOME of the district's most beautiful gardens opened to members of the public when the Bathurst Gardeners Club held its annual Spring Spectacular over the weekend.
Many visitors walked away with inspiration for their own homes.
Nine gardens were on display - from quite close to the CBD to as far out as Evans Plains.
