Well that's it for another Bathurst AM. We thought we would bump the cute factor up another notch with these two adorable kittens who are hoping to become part of a loving local family. BATHURST’S sustainable lifestyle house will be open on Saturday from 9am until noon.
The home is located at 17 McGirr Street, on the corner of Blaxland Street and council staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to visitors.
Information on building design, construction techniques, materials, fixtures and suppliers will be available.
All interested members of the public are invited to attend.
AND in other news Bathurst Regional Council’s annual Community Garage Sale returns to the Mount Panorama pit complex from 9am-noon on Sunday, November 16.
Registration is now open so hurry to book your stall. The cost is $35 for one table and two chairs, $60 for two stalls and $110 for a whole Pit Garage (four stalls).
Last year more than 2000 people shopped at over 80 stalls with loads of books, clothes, furniture, children’s items, tools and plenty more on offer.
Along with the stalls, there will be a barbecue and coffee stand, as well as face painting and a jumping castle for the kid, making it a fun day for the family.

For a short while this morning motorists heading into Bathurst were getting a free car wash outside the service station opposite Learmonth Park on the Great Western Highway thanks to a broken pipe.

■ MAKE SURE YOU SEE THIS: Define and Seen is on display at Dean Mobbs Gallery, 77 Keppel Street, until Thursday. The artworks are by local artists Sharon Shelton (watercolour and pastel landscapes, portraits, wildlife and botanical art) and Melanie Sweetnam (mixed media abstract art).
■ GET INVOLVED: The Bathurst Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (BLAECG) meets on Thursday, October 30 at 1.45pm at Bathurst Public School. Get involved today and make a difference. All welcome.
■ RISING STARS: The Rising Stars concert features seven of Australia’s finest young singers, singing the hits of broadway, opera, operetta and cabaret. It includes guest performances from Bathurst’s own rising stars. It will take place at 7.30pm on Friday, October 31 in the Orchard Room at Mitchell Conservatorium. Tickets: adults $30, concession $25, under 12 years are free.

EVEN the Bureau of Meteorology was left surprised by yesterday's wind storm that whipped though Bathurst leaving homes damaged, trees down and 1900 premises without power.Wind gusts up to 80km/h were recorded.
A NUMBER of Bathurst's emergency service personnel have joined in the search for a man missing at Kanangara Boyd National Park near Oberon.
BATHURST is experiencing its worst outbreak of kennel cough in decades, according to veteran dog trainer and judge Pat Connoley. The highly infectious disease can be fatal in young dogs, those with pre-existing health conditions or dogs that have not been vaccinated.
