BATHURST Library is hosting Christmas on Keppel, in the Library forecourt and Keppel Street on Saturday, 29 November from 10am to 2pm.
This event is a family friendly community fair and street party with gifts stalls, book sale, sausage sizzle, craft activities, live music and entertainment, as well as a visit from Santa Claus for the kids.
Bathurst Library is calling for a range of stall holders to be a part of this event.
There is a fee of $30.00 per stall, which permits the stall holder a space within the Library forecourt or on the Keppel Street footpath, a table and chair can be supplied.
Stall holders must hold and provide a copy of current Public Liability Insurance.
Stall numbers are limited, applications close at 5pm, Friday, November 7.

THE Rising Stars concert on today features seven of Australia's finest young singers, including guest performances from Bathurst's own rising stars.
They will sing the hits of broadway, opera, operetta and cabaret.
The concert is on tonight at 7.30pm in the Orchard Room at Mitchell Conservatorium.
Tickets are available through the conservatorium or on the door, adults tickets are $30, concession $25, under 12 years are free.

BATHURST Regional Council's annual community garage sale returns to the Mount Panorama pit complex from 9am-noon on Sunday, November 16.
Registrations are now open to book your stall. The cost is $35 for one table and two chairs, $60 for two stalls and $110 for a whole Pit Garage (four stalls).
Last year more than 2000 people shopped at over 80 stalls with loads of books, clothes, furniture, children's items, tools and plenty more on offer.
Along with the stalls, there will be a barbecue and coffee stand, as well as face painting and a jumping castle for the kid, making it a fun day for the family.

The annual initiative offers householders the opportunity to dispose of unwanted chemicals free of charge.
Items accepted by Netwaste include: paint and paint-related products; pesticides and herbicides; pool chemicals; poisons; garden chemicals (e.g. weed killers); solvents (e.g. paint stripper); household chemicals (e.g. bleach and detergents); household cleaners; ammonia-based cleaners; floor care products; smoke detectors; fluorescent lightglobes and tubes; car batteries; motor oils, fuels and fluids; gas bottles; fire extinguishers; hobby chemicals; acids and alkalis.
Drop off your household chemicals to the Cooke Hockey Complex today between 8am and 4pm.

The home is located at 17 McGirr Street, on the corner of Blaxland Street.
Council staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to visitors.
Information on building design, construction techniques, materials, fixtures and suppliers will be available.
All interested members of the public are invited to attend.

IT'S been five days since Bathurst Regional Council began patrols of Bernardi's IGA car park, adding to Council's regular public car park and street patrols.
The development and growth of the premises has meant that the use of the car park has become increasingly popular.
Joseph Bernardi of Bernardi Group said that by partnering with Bathurst Regional Council, regular customers can rest assured that parking spaces will be available.
"It is great that Bernardi's IGA, Harris Farm and Discount Dave's have been so popular with the Bathurst community and by monitoring the car park more appropriately, we can ensure that parking spaces will continue to be available for our customers, " Mr. Bernardi said.
The patrol of the Bernardi's IGA car park will commence on Monday October 26 utilising both foot-patrols and tyre marking as well as the new mobile parking vehicle.

THE Assumption School is going with a Halloween theme for its big community twilight fete this afternoon from 4-8pm.
The ghosts and ghouls will come out to play, so, instead of trick or treating this Halloween, bring your family and friends along and enjoy an evening of entertainment, rides, games, stalls, great food and coffee.
This year, thanks to the generosity of the community, the rides will be discounted. The jumping castle, giant slide and horizontal bungee will all cost $3 each, and the rock climbing wall will cost $5 a turn.
There will also be plenty for the adults, including a huge range of pre-loved clothes at bargain prices, a wide variety of spring plants, traditional chocolate wheel with fantastic prizes, great raffle prizes, delicious food and coffee, and even a lucky dip for grown-ups with the Mystery Brown Bag stall.

THERE is a very high fire danger rating in place for the Central Ranges, including Bathurst, today and all fire permits have been suspended.

Bushfire season in the Central Ranges runs from October 1, 2014 through to March 31, 2015.

- BRUCE Morcombe is confident the Australian legal system will prevail when the man convicted of murdering his son Daniel fronts the Court of Appeal next month.
Mr Morcombe and his wife Denise were in Canberra yesterday to launch the second annual Walk for Daniel in the ACT before the 10th annual Day for Daniel today involving 1500 schools across the country.
- PRIME Minister Tony Abbott is expected to launch a multi-state police taskforce to investigate suspected ties between organised crime and union officials when he campaigns with Victorian Premier Denis Napthine for the first time today.
The pair are expected to make the joint announcement at an event in Melbourne on Friday morning, marking Mr Abbott's first entry into the state election campaign.
- A BID by Peter Slipper to produce fresh evidence in his fight against conviction will be blocked by the Commonwealth.
The former parliamentary speaker was last month convicted of defrauding the Commonwealth in a Canberra court.
He was sentenced to 300 hours community service and ordered to repay $954.

- STAFF at north Orange McDonald's were left badly shaken after a man wearing shorts, a bandanna over his face and yellow gloves, threatened them with a knife before demanding money early yesterday morning.
The man entered the front door of the Telopea Way fast food restaurant at around 12.30am and threatened staff at the front counter before demanding they hand over money.
- MENTAL health and wellbeing is one of the biggest issues facing people of all ages, but early next year Dubbo's youth will have a place to go and seek help.
Headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation will open its doors at 23 Church Street, Dubbo in January and the service is expected to be an important one.
- THE A Day On The Green Mudgee concert - featuring Jimmy Barnes, The Living End, Troy Cassar-Daley, Mahalia Barnes & The Soul Mates, and locals Dan and Dan - is ready to go at Robert Oatley Vineyards tomorrow.
