Lueth may have spent half of his life growing up in the Western Sydney city of Blacktown, but he has been firmly planted in Bathurst for the past three years.
“I quite love it,” he said.
“It’s a great place to be.”
By day he is a Charles Sturt University student studying advertising and marketing, but when night falls you’ll find him filling up the pubs and clubs of Bathurst with his unique sound.
When he performs live he holds his guitar close to his chest like a mother cradling her child; his passion for music simply radiates from him.
Lueth’s foray into the music industry began at an early age when he watched music programs on TV in Kenya.
“I used to wake up early on Saturday morning back in Kenya and watch music TV and sing along to songs,” he said.
Usher’s song You Got It Bad inspired him to pursue music.
His first experience of live performance came in high school, where he was able to experiment with his voice and improve on his talent.
“I went to Mitchell High School in Blacktown and I was into school musicals,” Lueth said.
“I did a lot of assembly performances.”
But Lueth’s skill is not limited to vocals.
“I play guitar and I’m currently learning to play the harmonica and the Djembe (African drums),” he said.
“I also beat-box.”
Having a wide range of skills is vital to Lueth’s success as he never knows what kind of people will be present at his gigs.
That is why he draws influence from a “crazy mix” of musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble, Alicia Keys and Cold Chisel.
“You’ve got to have a playlist of songs from everyone’s forte,” he said.
“It’s about connecting with your audience.”
With all this in mind, it is easy to see why his rounded performances draw such great feedback from his unpredictable audience.
“I love people who give positive and negative feedback, because you learn from it,” Lueth said.
“I’ve added a lot of songs to my set list people have suggested.”
Lueth plays a lot of covers at his gigs, but he always intertwines his original music throughout his performances.
Someday he hopes to cement himself in the music industry, using his university degree to market himself as a performer, but for the moment he just wants to get his first single, which is currently in production, out into the world.
The single, Always, is just further evidence of Lueth’s original all-inclusive style with its unique subject matter – Harry Potter.
“It’s about Professor Snape and the love he felt for Lily,” he said.
“He never stopped loving her, even in death.”
It seems the same could be said for Lueth.
His time in Bathurst is slowly coming to an end as his degree transitions into the final year, but his love for Bathurst will remain.
“I plan to move back to the western suburbs, but I’ll always come back to Bathurst,” he said.
This means there’s no better time than now to catch Lueth live.
He is available for hire as an entertainer for any occasion, including parties and weddings where his “eclectic mix of RnB, blues, pop, and acoustic originals” will truly shine.
