Scott James Cook, 22, of Bannerman Crescent, appeared before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court.
Police facts tendered to the court told how on October 5 this year, Cook smashed a glass window, the property of the Department of Housing.
The police facts indicated Cook was homeless and the victim offered to let him stay at her house. On the evening of October 5, Cook attended the property and knocked loudly on the front door of the victim’s house.
When the victim answered the door he said to her: “I want my [expletive] clothes.”
The victim said nothing, closed the door and then began to gather Cook’s belongings from within the house.
While she was doing this, Cook used his left elbow to break the glass in the front window.
Hearing the glass break, the victim went back to the door, opened it and saw Cook walking away. She called police.
The following day Cook entered Bathurst Police Station. where the allegation was put to him by police officers.
He said: “Yeah, I elbowed the window I got angry when she shut the door in my face. I wanted my stuff back. I didn’t mean to break the window, I just got angry.”
Mr Allen convicted Cook, fining him $100.
