A 20-YEAR-OLD woman has been sexually assaulted in a late-night attack in the centre of Bathurst.

Police said the young woman was confronted by a man as she walked to her car which was parked on Keppel Street, near the intersection of William Street, about 11.30pm 0 on Friday.
The man dragged the woman a short distance before sexually assaulting her.
Police were alerted and detectives from Chifley Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene that was forensically examined.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
An investigation is underway and detectives are appealing for public assistance in an attempt to identify and locate the man involved.
He’s described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander appearance and aged in his 40s.
He was wearing a navy hooded-jumper and board shorts.
