However, the school captain and boarder, who comes from a 3600-acre property near Coonamble, will learn today if she will get into the course of her dreams at Sydney University when the ATAR rankings are released.
Isabella says she needs an ATAR of about 99 to study law and media.
“If I don’t get the marks I need then I would look to do media, and then hopefully transfer across to law and continue on with the media,” she said.
“I am keeping my fingers crossed though.”
Isabella scored 93 in religion, 93 in economics, 94 in English advanced, 45/50 in one unit English extension, 92 in legal studies, 94 in modern history and 48/50 in one unit history extension.
Other top performers at MacKillop included Chelsea Sargeant, who received five Band 6s, Elish Heffernan [four Band 6s], Erin Boyling [three Band 6s], and Sarah Barlow and Keira Germech [two Band 6s].
Taylor Green, Elizabeth Enright and Chelsea Leahy all received one Band 6.
According to Chelsea Sargeant, her dream is to study commerce information systems at the University of NSW, but she needs an ATAR of 96.3 to get into that course.
Elizabeth Enright would like to study international global studies at Sydney University and needs an ATAR of 95. “I’ve got my fingers crossed,” she said yesterday.
Sarah Barlow plans on having a gap year before embarking on a double degree with a Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Education at the University of NSW.
MacKillop College principal Maureen Moore said the 89 Year 12 students at the school achieved a total of 40 Band 6 results.
“Overall, we are very happy with the results,” she said. “What also pleases me is that we had a minimal number of Band 2 results, so it’s not just about the top end, it’s bringing all students up to a higher level.”
Mrs Moore said the college’s average was for Band 4 and 5 results.
