They have just presented Mr Rumble with a $1500 donation for his community Christmas luncheon, which will be held at the Christian Life Centre from noon on Christmas Day.

Accord president Robert ‘Stumpy’ Taylor said the accord decided to get involved and support the luncheon after receiving a letter asking for help back in 2012. 

Thanks to the success of the accord’s annual golf day fundraising event, it is able to redirect funds raised from this day back into the local community. 

“This Christmas lunch is one of the many Bathurst events and charities we are proud to support,” Mr Taylor said.

“To be able to work with Barney to help provide for someone at Christmas is very satisfying.

“We hope our $1500 contribution can assist and compliment the great work that Barney already provides.”

Anyone who would like to attend as a guest or volunteer should contact The Neighbourhood Centre on 6332 4866. Numbers must be in by Tuesday for catering purposes.

Everyone is welcome to attend, especially those who don’t have any family in Bathurst or those who know they will be alone this Christmas.
