Throughout January children will be able to participate in activities designed to engage them in science, crafts and puppetry.
The first of the workshops is Fizz and Bubble, an educational opportunity to investigate all kinds of products found in the home that fizz and bubble.
Public programs officer Penny Packham said kids will love the educational and hands-on fun.
Fizz and Bubble runs on January 14 and 21 from 11am to noon.
The second workshop to take place over the holidays is Zombie Attack!
With the success of so many supernatural films and television shows over the last few years, children have a new-found fascination with all things ghastly.
Zombie Attack!, held on January 15 and 22 from 11am to noon, will see your children
zombie-fied as they learn to make their own bloody, gruesome wounds out of everyday household products.
The third workshop on offer is Terrabirds, run in conjunction with their current exhibition Upstream Downstream.
“We’ll be looking at some of the great extinct creatures from the past,” she said.
This workshop is on January 16 and 23 from 10am to 3pm.
Lastly is the Dead Bones Society writing workshops with renowned local children's author Paul Stafford.
There are two series of two workshops run by Mr Stafford, one for girls and one for boys.
