Both sides are set to contest the fifth instalment of the competition, played as an adapted, 30-minute version of the sport - depending on how many teams nominate.
Thirteen sides competed at the carnival last year, which Orange CYMS won in a canter.
Hawks won a gripping final the previous year, and organisers are expecting a similar turnout at Canowindra’s Tom Clyburn Oval on Sunday, March 15.
League tag has exploded around the region, simultaneously with the increase in popularity of rugby sevens, and Country Rugby League Western Region manager Peter Clarke was glowing when he spoke of the sport in the central west.
“There are now established league tag competitions in Woodbridge Cup, Group 10, Lachlan District JRL,” he said.
“In the Western Region there were more than 600 participants in 2014, this figure is sure to grow with Castlereagh League and Group 11 aiming to kick off senior competitions in 2015.
“League tag has strengthened the games appeal to the wider community and in most cases has helped increase the sustainability of rugby league clubs.”
