Brian Morgan, 23, of Trinity Drive in Kelso, appeared before magistrate Michael Allen this week.
Police facts tendered to the court told how on July 7 last year Morgan was to attend the Orange Local Court in relation to two common assaults, however, the defendant did not attend and was convicted in his absence.
On December 23, police received information he was staying at an address in Greville Place in Kelso.
Police attended and spoke to the people in the house, when Morgan presented himself at the front door.
They observed he was intoxicated and he made references to running from police, however, he chose not to, with police arresting him by virtue of a warrant.
Mr Allen convicted Morgan, revoking a Community Service Order on the assault charge and placing him on a Section 9 Bond for 12 months and directing him to report to the Probation and Parole Service within five days.
On the fail to appear he was convicted and fined $100.
