Christopher Kenneth Jeff Longmuir, 27, of Jade Close in Kelso, appeared in person and unrepresented in Bathurst Local Court this week charged with destroying or damaging property.
He appeared before magistrate Michael Allen.
Police facts tendered to the court told how Longmuir was in the gaming lounge of the Family Hotel on December 13 last year and was operating various poker machines.
He then started using the King of the Nile machine and, after a win, punched the front of the machine with the closed fist on his right hand. The screen cracked and then broke completely, with shards of glass falling on the floor.
Longmuir then kicked the swing doors at the entrance of the gaming area and exited the hotel.
The manager of the hotel heard the commotion, observed the damage to the poker machine and called the police.
Police reviewed CCTV footage of the area, which clearly depicted the accused damaging the machine and leaving the area.
At 11.50pm, police were at the Elephant and Castle Hotel and located Longmuir inside. He was wearing the same clothes as in the CCTV footage taken of him at the Family Hotel earlier in the night.
Police approached him and asked if he had been in the gaming room at the Family Hotel. He admitted to officers he was there and that had damaged the poker machine.
He was subsequently issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice to appear before court.
Mr Allen convicted Longmuir of the offence, fining him $200.
