The #52 Compare Insurance entry with Pete Storey, Ben Gower and Gordon Shedden was among 18 international entries this year.
Their car – an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 – was on pace and finished in 23rd position.
Team principal Simon Phillips said it wasn’t hard to convince the drivers to make the trip to Australia for the third year running.
“It’s our third time, but this is the first time in Class A,” he said.
Mr Phillips said it was a huge benefit to have the same drivers work together for three years running.
“Our strategy was done on the plane flight over here,” he said.
While the drivers might have some experience, Mr Phillips, who has previously raced at Mount Panorama, said the iconic track “doesn’t forgive”.
“You have to be 100 per cent confident. If you’re 0.1 over, you’ve gone into the wall,” he said.
Driving at the 12 Hour takes some planning, according to Mr Phillips, with some teams flying their car to Australia, and others choosing the six-week shipping journey.
While Aston Martins may have raced at the 12 Hour “once or twice” before, this is the first “real year” for the manufacturer, Mr Phillips said of the three entries.
Also driving an Aston Martin were the Craft Bamboo Racing and Aston Martin Saint Gallen teams.
