Bishop Palmer was rushed to Orange hospital at the weekend after his heart attack during a church meeting at Wellington.
Archdeacon Frank Hetherington told the Central Western Daily all clergy in the diocese had been advised of the situation surrounding the bishop’s health
“There has been a real outpouring of support and encouragement for a full recovery for our bishop,” Archdeacon Hetherington said.
Bishop Palmer was rushed to the cardiology unit of Orange hospital on Saturday where a stent was inserted in one of his arteries.
The bishop’s heart attack came a week after he and his wife Liz arrived in Dubbo after a marathon walk from Bathurst, before he was commissioned as the parish priest at Dubbo.
A spokesperson for the Anglican Church has asked that Bishop Palmer be allowed to rest while on leave for the next two weeks, and people should not try to contact him directly.
All inquiries about the bishop’s health should be directed to the registrar Karen Trafford on 6331 1722.
