Bathurst juniors Grace Schumacher, Sam Burrow, Ailee Blackshaw and Bryson Richards were all playing for a spot in their respective age division finals at Bathurst Tennis Centre tournament.
Schumacher is a chance at overall success today, while the other three are battling it out in the consolation side of the draw.
Schumacher went into the girls under 14s singles as the number one seed and showed why she held that position in her opening match on Saturday.
The Eglinton star dropped just a single game in her match against Alex Harbridge as she cruised through to the quarter-finals on the back of a 6-0, 6-1 result.
Schumacher yesterday had a match against sixth-seed Ebony Gaal with the winner set to face Matina Ujder. She was gifted a spot through to the semi-finals thanks to her opponent withdrawing.
Burrow is competing in the same under 14s age group as Schumacher. Seeded eighth, she suffered a shock loss to Kajol Arishma Chand in the opening round.
Burrow went down 6-4 in the opening set, but that sparked her back to life as she responded to take the second set 6-0.
However, her opponent found her feet once more to turn the momentum again and take out the match with another 6-4 third set win.
Burrow yesterday had a match against Sasha Nelson for a spot in the consolation semi-final.
Both Blackshaw and Richards also were sent to the consolation draw after first round defeats.
Blackshaw put up a good fight against Georgia Bigeni to go down 6-3, 7-5 in the girls under 12s singles while Richards couldn't match Joshua Vlcek in his boys under 16s singles match, going down 6-2, 6-1.
Late yesterday Schumacher and Burrow were pitted against each other in the semi-finals of the girls under 14s doubles, both coming into the meeting off convincing straight-sets wins.
