The Dye Hard Fun Run is the first series of colour runs to take place in regional NSW, and organiser Rod Fardell said they were looking forward to painting locals the colours of the rainbow come the weekend.
“We’ve had a huge number of people sign up for the event and it looks like it’s going to be a brilliant day. The location is amazing and we’re really looking forward to it,” Mr Fardell said.
From 10am on Sunday, competitors of all ages will be dusted, sprayed and covered in different coloured dyes as they run around a set track before having a huge colour party at the end of the race and tossing dye packets at each other.
The Mudgee track will be between three and five kilometres, and those taking part will be able to laugh, dance, and walk their way around the track.
Participants are encouraged to dress up for the day in their best rainbow outfits and there will be plenty of prizes on offer for the best dressed runners and best dressed teams.
There will be music throughout the day and there will be colour throws for competitors who have finished every 10 to 15 minutes, depending on numbers. Those who aren’t participating are still invited to come along to the event and experience the atmosphere.
The fun run will begin at 10am on Sunday, March 8.
Check-in will take place from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, March 7 and from 8am to 9.50am on Sunday, March 8 at the Lawson Park gazebo.
Visit dyehardfunrun.com.au for more information or to sign up for the event.
Registration closes on March 6 at 5pm.
