Police and ambulance officers rushed to the scene on Panorama Avenue, just opposite the entrance to Sulman Park, at 1.52pm on Monday.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said the call said a steel roller had gone over the leg of a man in his 30s. The caller told emergency services the man wasn’t trapped.
Paramedics attended the scene, along with police, and found the victim had sustained an injury to his foot.
After treating the patient at the scene, paramedics transferred him to Bathurst Base Hospital for further treatment.
Police spoke to the victim, and to witnesses who were working with him.
The injured man is an employee of Bathurst Regional Council.
No further information on the man’s injuries were available late on Monday.
A WorkCover spokesperson said WorkCover had been notified of the incident and while they were not able to comment on what happened, they confirmed inquiries were being made into the matter.
A Bathurst Regional Council spokesperson confirmed the organisation had advised WorkCover of an incident involving one of its staff members.
The spokesperson said the staff member was receiving medical treatment.
“Council will follow its standard procedures following any safety incident and investigate the matter,” they said.
“Any external investigation of the incident would be a decision of that organisation.”
