Community groups came together for the ceremony, which went ahead despite the dreary weather.
The Macquarie Male Singers commenced proceedings with a melody of appropriate songs before the welcome address by Bill Ryan.
When the rain started to come down the umbrellas went up, but there was no stopping this commemoration.
During the ceremony, head of care Sharyn Ryan recognised the residents of Macquarie Care who had served Australia.
The stories of sergeant pilot Jack Shaw, Williamina Severn, Lenard Edwin Clayphan, Vincent John McKechnie, Danilo Jovanovitch and corporal Terence Denis Lucas were all told and appreciated by the large crowd.
Ms Ryan also took the opportunity to acknowledge their food services manager, warrant officer Tony Shelton, for his 23 years service to the Australian Defence Force.
School children also paid tribute to their own relatives at the ceremony and wore medals on their behalf with pride.
The Macquarie Care Centre Anzac Day remembrance service was attended by several guests, including representatives from the Bathurst RSL Sub Branch, mayor Gary Rush, Member for Calare John Cobb and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole.
Cr Rush and Mr Toole both expressed their gratitude at being a part of the ceremony during their address to the crowd as they paid tribute to the Anzac legacy.
Several wreaths were laid before The Last Post and The Rouse were played and the flag raised.
