From fancy frocks to the highest of heels, the ladies showed off the best of Bathurst chic in the series of heats for the finals in the two female categories.
The under 30s category was a place for bold prints, unique footwear and an array of unique accessories, while the ladies over 30 showed off classic pieces.
Andy Wheeler compered the event and offered his thoughts from where he stood in his cow-print attire.
“They were judged on their appearance on the day,” he said.
The judging panel was led by Lithgow mayor Maree Statham.
The panel discussed entrants’ fashion choices before selecting the winners.
There was also a section for style-conscious men.
“It was a little slow at first to get the men involved, but we got there,” Mr Wheeler said.
“It was a chance for everyone to dress up for the chance to win some great prizes,” Mr Wheeler said.
Racegoers also have an opportunity to win a prize.
Western Advocate photographer Phill Murray snapped 100 people at the Soldier’s Saddle. They are in the running to win a $100 gift voucher from Bathurst RSL.
The photos are available on the Western Advocate website in the Hottest 100 gallery.
Members of the public can vote for their favourite outfit.
Voting is open all week and the winner will be announced on Friday.
