Police are yet to officially release the names of two people killed in an horrific car crash at Yetholme on Tuesday night.

An 18-year-old female from Young died at the scene, while the 21-year-old male from Cootamundra died in Liverpool Hospital on Wednesday morning.
The 24-year-old male driver of the car, also from Young, remains in a serious condition in Orange Hospital, while a 31-year-old Lithgow woman underwent surgery in Liverpool Hospital on Wednesday.
All four were on their way to Young to go to a funeral in Tumut for a friend who had been killed in a car crash just days earlier.
Inspector Powderly said officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended and were investigating the events leading up to the crash. They are looking at a number of possible causes, including the condition of the road, environmental factors, speed, fatigue, driver inattention and alcohol or other illicit substances.
He said the investigation into the fatality is in its infancy and called for any witnesses to come forward via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The crash occurred at 10.20pm on tuesday, when the group’s Ford Festiva veered off the road, hitting a tree at Yetholme, 17 kilometres east of Bathurst.
