►BATHURST'S new Destination Management Plan is a "$60,000 dud", according to Councillor Jess Jennings.
Cr Jennings voted with his colleagues inside the council chamber to unanimously adopt the DMP but has launched a stinging attack on mayor Gary Rush's involvement during the drafting of the document.
►A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for two years over the death of a 15-year-old girl in a forest crash near Oberon last year.
Adam Moore was behind the wheel of a Holden Rodeo during a late-night ride through Lowes Mount State Forest on June 6, 2014 when he navigated a sharp corner too fast, causing the ute to roll.
Albion Park girl Brielle Falzon was crushed and killed in the crash.
►TENS of millions of dollars will be heading Bathurst's way when NSW Premier Mike Baird hands down the government's budget for 2015-16 tomorrow afternoon.

The pair, among the strongest junior prospects in Bathurst swimming, were wasting no time showing the rest of the Central West what they were capable of in the water at the weekend's Mountains and Plains Winter Championships at the Bathurst Aquatic Centre.
►RUGBY LEAGUE: It seems like Bathurst Panthers are stuck in their own version of Groundhog Day after a 30-22 Group 10 premier league loss to Blayney yesterday at King George VI Oval. Two former Panthers players in Steve Lane and William 'Bubba' Kennedy torched the Bathurst side in a dazzling effort, with Todd Barrow's team again missing a good opportunity to bag a much-needed third win.

ON this day back in 1867 the Denison Bridge was washed away.
An article published in the Bathurst Times stated:
"A FLOOD such as no man recollects has visited our Plains, which now present to the eye a vast sheet of water, dotted here and there with patches of verdure, houses more or less submerged or surrounded with water, and the tops of a few tall trees.
"The new brick bridge recently erected on the Vale Road, near Mr. Henry Buttler's inn, was reported to be carried away by the flood, a report which has since been confirmed.
"The destruction of this bridge is universally felt to be a serious calamity to the district, for all communication with Sydney is stopped; there is no punt, no boat, nor any means available at present, to enable passengers, much less teams or the mail to cross the Macquarie."
