Mr Elliott was joined by Member for Bathurst Paul Toole in presenting long service awards at a special function at the Bathurst fire station.
During the ceremony retained Deputy Captain David Pennells, who celebrated 34 years’ service in February, was awarded a long service and good conduct first and second clasp plus a National Medal first clasp.
Senior Firefighter Tim Anderson, who is celebrating 16 years’ service this month, was awarded the National Medal.
Senior Firefighter Shane Brinkworth from Orange Fire Station, who celebrated 25 years’ service, was awarded the first clasp for the National Medal for his service.
Mr Elliott congratulated Mr Anderson, Mr Pennells and Mr Brinkworth for their outstanding service to the community of Bathurst and Orange.
“It is an honour to be able to present these awards to the three senior firefighters,” he said.
“Firefighters make a huge commitment to the communities they serve and these medals are just a small token of our appreciation.”
Mr Toole said it was great to have Mr Elliott visit the fire station to present the medals.
“The three recipients have served their communities and have a proven dedication to their local area,” he said. “I would like to thank them for their ongoing service to the community.”
