SEVEN people, including a baby, were taken to Bathurst hospital following two separate car accidents in the city’s CBD yesterday afternoon.
The first occurred between a car and a van at 3.50pm on the corner of Peel and Morrisset streets.
Ambulance Service of NSW inspector Kathy Golledge said the van rolled onto its roof from the impact of the collision.
“The occupants had self-extracted [removed themselves] from the vehicle before we arrived,” she said.
Paramedics treated the two male passengers on scene for possible spinal injuries and they were taken to Bathurst hospital. Two female passengers and a baby, who were in the other car, were also taken to hospital for further assessment.
Then, at 4.10pm, a second accident occurred, also between two cars, on the corner of William and Lambert streets.
“One car was t-boned by another,” Inspector Golledge said.
“The female driver [of the car t-boned] had chest and knee pain.”
Her male passenger had minor head injuries and they were both taken to Bathurst hospital.
The two occupants of the other car, one male and one female, were uninjured in the accident.
Chifley Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Colin Cracknell has called on witnesses to either accident to call Bathurst Police on 6332 8699.
