It is the latest in a series of attractions planned for the centre since it had a change of ownership earlier in the year.
Jumbo’s Jungle owner Matt Patterson, who took over the reins in April, said he hopes the changes will strengthen the centre’s family focus and attract users year-round.
“We’ve changed around the menu and the layout of the centre. It still has a very family-friendly focus, we’ve just given it a little bit of a revamp,” he said.
He said builders were on-site last week finishing building the outdoor synthetic turf area at the rear of the building where laser tag will be played.
A custom-made inflatable maze was shipped into Sydney last week and the laser guns are ready to go.
He said laser tag’s demographic is the seven- to 13-year-olds, but said younger family members won’t be excluded, provided they are able to hold the gun, which weighs one kilogram.
Mini golf is also coming to Jumbo’s, although it is still a few months off.
“We are hoping mini golf will be operational in time for the September school holidays,” Mr Patterson said.
“Jumbo’s is very busy in the winter time, and then it’s quieter in the warmer months, so these new attractions we hope will make it more attractive for families all year round.”
And as the warmer months approach, Mr Patterson said Jumbo’s was also considering opening slightly later in the morning and then remaining open later at night.
He said they will look at how these school holidays go and make changes as they are required.
At this stage, Mr Patterson said laser tag will operate at Jumbo’s on the weekend, and be available mid-week if it is pre-booked.
