From the moment she stepped on to the stage, Ms Adams wowed the reality show’s five judges.
The song she chose to sing for the blind audition in this year’s competition was the tough and gritty Work it Out by American songstress Beyonce.
As Ms Adams sung, judge Delta Goodrem was the first to get up and dance followed by new judge Jessie J.
When her song came to an end all judges, except Latino sensation Ricky Martin, had turned their chair to face her, signalling that they wanted Ms Adams on their team.
“Congratulations, you need to be in this show,” Mr Martin said.
From there, the other judges began their battle to nab Ms Adams for their teams.
The remaining judges heaped praised on Ms Adams, before Ms Goodrem announced she would like to hear the song again.
“It is a good song, I wouldn’t mind grooving along again for a little while,” she said.
The two female judges joined Ms Adams on stage and sang the song with her.
Then Ms Adams had to decide which judge she would choose to mentor her through the next stage of the competition.
She told them she was “absolutely humbled and grateful” that they turned around in support of her act, before she picked English singer and songwriter Jessie J as her mentor.
“It’s going to be fun, you’re so comfortable, I love that,” Jessie J told her as she left the stage.
Ms Adams is no stranger to the stage and has performed on the music circuit in Bathurst, and now Eugowra, since she was 15 years old.
During the day Ms Adams works as a teacher at Eugowra and the show also filmed her returning to greet her students following her successful audition.
“I spend so much time with the kids from school, and because we are a small school we’ve got a bit more of a tighter community feel,” she said.
“They’re so supportive and loving and just really want the best for me.”
