Illuminate Bathurst will see the Court House, Carillon, TAFE Building, Ribbon Gang Lane and Pedrottas Lane illuminated nightly until 12 July.
The present-themed illumination will capture the urban energy of Bathurst by replicating patterns sourced from the surrounding architecture, keep an eye out on the TAFE building for a visual surprise and performers from Cirkus Surreal will bring Pedrottas Lane to life.
Join the celebrations
On opening night the popular silent disco will take over the lawns of the Court House. It will return to Ribbon Gang Lane after opening night.
Saturday’s street festival features more than twenty food vendors, operating from three locations, and local wineries. Festival food will range from $2 through to $15 and offers something for everyone – from pasta, soup, tacos, pizza, wedges, churros and more.
A range of family entertainment will keep everyone entertained, including the screening of Frozen, a children’s disco, night bowling, a giant slide and you can pose for a photo on the ice throne. There will be some bean bag seating provided for the movie screening, but bring a blanket to keep warm.
The festival starts at 4pm.
There will be road closures in place. Russell St between William and George Street, and Church Lane will be closed on Saturday 4 July from 7am until 11pm.
Parking will be available throughout the CBD including public carparks near the RSL, Stockland and Bathurst City Centre.
Food will be available from vendors at the street festival and surrounding restaurants and cafes. Festival food is priced from $2 - $15. Local wine and beer will be available by the glass. Bring your Bathurst200 festival glasses or buy one on the night. The event is not BYO. Wine by the glass is $6.
Bring a picnic blanket or chair and rug up to enjoy the entertainment and the Illumination.
