The school holiday program, which started in 2013, has become extremely popular for young music enthusiasts.
Rock School gives students the opportunity to learn how to play a range of instruments in a fun environment suitable for all ages before they take to the stage in an official open mic night performance.
Workshops and smaller breakout sessions are led by instructors Mark McLaughlin, Aaron Hopper, Jonathan Lewis, Aaron Hollier and Jamie Briton, who specialise in guitar, vocals, drums and percussion.
There are more than 20 students participating in the program and they are thoroughly enjoying learning the instruments.
Students learn in both group and one-on-one tutoring sessions so they can better develop their skills.
Mitchell Conservatorium executive director Graham Sattler says the program is a great activity for students in school holidays.
“Rock School is for anyone of any age and any level of experience who wants to get together and play,” he said.
The program started yesterday and will continue until Friday, ending with the performance at the Elephant and Castle Hotel on Keppel Street.
It runs between 10am and 4pm daily.
Those yet to sign up for the program can still register for the remainder of the program.
