The first incident, involving three cars, occurred on the Mitchell Highway east of Orange after each vehicle hit the same patch of black ice.
"They didn't impact on each other but all crashed separately on that one patch of black ice," said Sergeant Michael White of Orange Police.
One of the vehicles which rolled on its side was extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
The 19-year-old driver of the vehicle was transported to Orange hospital and later allowed to leave.
The two other vehicles which sustained minor damage were driven by a 32-year-old female and 24-year old male respectively.
"On these cold winter mornings we are urging drivers to plan their trips more carefully and factor in the extra time to get to work on roads where there is potentially black ice," Sergeant White said.
The three vehicles lost control on the Mitchell Highway, two kilometres east of the Amaroo Road.
The second accident occurred around 8.30am on Spring Terrace Road with a driver sustaining minor injuries after the vehicle crashed.
All three vehicle were travelling towards Orange.
