The Eagles adapted to the wet and miserable conditions more so than their rivals scoring six tries to two on their way to a 38-14 win.
Steve Montgomery bagged a double for the hosts while Bill Cummins rubbed salt into the wound with a try after the full-time siren.
Cowra coach Dave Oliver said his side's energy at the beginning of the match was what laid the platform for victory, something that impressed him after suffering a loss due to a poor start the week before.
"It was a good start, really good start," Oliver said.
"It's bloody great to see the guys put a try on in the opening three minutes so that was good.
"Narromine scrambled and that's what we knew was coming at us," he said.
After Steve Montgomery had crossed first, Narromine leveled through a converted try to winger DJ Gordon.
Opportunities for the visitors to lead were missed when back-to-back penalties were sent either side of the uprights from the boot of the Gorillas' fullback Henry Buttsworth.
The Eagles didn't waste any chances though working themselves into attacking territory and converting it to points with Troy Jeffs barging over the line to regain the lead for the hosts.
Narromine coach Gary Wynn also admitted Cowra's dominant start was what helped them take control of the contest and dent his side's hopes of their first away win of the season.
"We started flat, the first 15 minutes Cowra played some really classy footy in around the forwards," Wynn said.
"Some really nice structured footy which caught us by surprise and they racked up some points but I was reasonably happy with the second half.
"We showed a bit of spirit, a bit of fight but it's still disappointing," he said.
A further four tries, one each to Chris Miller and Jeremy Montgomery and a second to Steve Montgomery as well as Cummins' after the 80-minute siren, confirmed the 24-point win for the Eagles.
Narromine's hooker Brad Freeth was their other try-scorer.
Oliver said his side can be more dangerous with the ball and is confident he can field a full strength side on Saturday against Orange City.
"We probably played a little bit one dimensional and it made it easy for them to defend in some parts so we have to learn, when we get quality ball, where to attack from because we seem to make it easy on the defence quite a bit," Oliver said.
"We'll have to play a level up [against Orange City], we're starting to get a return of a few senior forwards so hopefully we'll be at full strength."
Coach Wynn said the Gorillas will look to make the most of their up coming fixtures at home.
"We got a couple of home games in a row coming up," he said.
"We're looking forward to being competitive."
Cowra Eagles 38 (Steve Montgomery 2, Jeremy Montgomery, Bill Cummins, Troy Jeffs and Chris Miller tries; Aaron Denzel 4 goals) defeated Narromine 14 (DJ Gordon and Brad Freeth tries; Henry Buttsworth 2 goals).
