THE weather prevented St Pat’s getting Group 10 premier league action last Sunday, but a Saints outfit hungry for football will be hoping to dig in to the Blayney Bears tomorrow at Carrington Park.

Snow postponed the Saints’ match with the Lithgow Workies in the previous round at a big moment in the season.
The Bears, however, are fresh off a win against the Cowra Magpies, having beaten the snow by playing on the Saturday.
With snow returning to the Central Tablelands yesterday, there is a chance Pat’s could be facing another weekend with no football.
Considering how the last match panned out between themselves and the Bears, however, no team in Group 10 will be hoping for a game to go ahead more than Pat’s.
Pat’s threw away an opportunity to pinch victory against the Bears at the last meeting at Blayney in a match where both sides’ performance left plenty to be desired.
Down 22-10, the visitors left their charge too late as the Bears’ Steve Lane kicked a field goal to give his side a 23-22 win.
The Bathurst side know that they will have more players on hand to pick from this time, as well as the home ground advantage.
Pat’s manager Daniel Finn said the returning players over the past couple of months have helped turn things around.
“They’re real hungry for it,” he said.
“The guys coming back have definitely helped. At training, things have been changed up a bit. Kurt [Hancock, coach] has now changed patterns on the field to adapt better to our strengths.”
The conditions have already forced a change as the match was moved from the Sportsground to Carrington Park yesterday.
While Finn said his team will be expecting an improved game, it’s going to take some good football to hold out a Bears team who look strong across the park.
“Their six and seven [Lane and Terry Brown], in my opinion, are the form halves in the competition, along with the CYMS boys. I watched them play against the Panthers at Blayney and they were unreal in that second half.
“Lithgow last week would have been a good indicator of what we could expect over the next few rounds, but this is just as big a match, if not more so.”
Premier league action is scheduled to start tomorrow at 1.45pm at Carrington Park.
