Bobbies Clothing’s annual ‘Old 4 New’ clothing drive finishes tomorrow, with all used jeans received to be donated to the Salvation Army.
Store owner Mel Gregory said the clothing drive was a great way to help people in need.
“You can bring in your old pair of jeans, [at] either Orange or Bathurst [stores], and they will then get donated to charity,” she said.
Ms Gregory said not only would donations help the charity, but it would also give
customers an in-store discount.
“As long as they’re clean and you can wear them again, you get 30 per cent off a new pair of jeans,” she said.
The promotion has been running for the past five years, and Ms Gregory said
customers always responded well to the idea of donating their old jeans.
“Bathurst is always better than Orange,” she said of previous donations received.
As ripped jeans are in fashion at the moment, jeans meeting this description are accepted in exchange for the discount as long as they have been washed.
However, items that are ripped in the crotch or across the backside will not be accepted.
Ms Gregory hopes the two stores will be able to donate at least 20 pairs of jeans to the Salvation Army at the end of this month.
Jeans can be donated to Bobbies Clothing store at 1/57-61 William Street, Bathurst.
