Host Darren McMullen’s announcement in Sunday night’s episode of The Voice marked the end of the line for the former Bathurst woman.
Ms Adams has been praised throughout the competition for her big voice, but it wasn’t enough to keep her in the running for the title of the next voice of Australia.
However, the budding songstress took her elimination on the chin and kept smiling as she embraced fellow contestant Amber Nichols.
As the camera panned to her mentor Jessie J, it was clear the superstar coach was on the verge of tears.
“She was sad,” Ms Adams said.
“After getting to know us all quite well throughout the journey, particularly in the last few weeks, I think she was just upset to see one of us go.
“She kind of said to me ‘don’t cry, or you’ll make me cry’.”
While people were shocked that Ms Adams had been eliminated, she said she wasn’t going into Sunday night’s live episode with any expectations.
Her mindset, she said, was “if I’m voted out then it’s not meant to be”.
But Ms Adams is not leaving the competition empty-handed or with any regrets.
“It will be back to teaching and I’m going to keep music in my life,” she said.
“I’ve definitely walked away with some tips and tricks and some things to work on with my vocals.”
Ms Adams intends to do more gigs in the Central West to get her music out there.
She knew what song she would perform on The Voice if she survived the elimination.
“I was disappointed that I didn’t get to sing Flame Trees, because that’s my favourite ever song to sing, but people can hear me sing it any time,” Ms Adams said.
The singer is open to people booking her for gigs and asks that anyone who is interested contact her via her Facebook page.
