Constables Benjamin Josh, Sara Bramley and Brendan Thomason were eager to pull on their new uniforms and get down to business on their first day.
Sergeant David Parsons said their day was filled with an onsite induction before they commence general duties today.
They were given an overview of the areas they would be responsible for and shown all the necessary paperwork.
The three constables went through their training at the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn together and are pleased to have some familiar faces in the area.
They will be restricted to general duties for the next three years, which includes doing work around the station, attending break and enters and attending car accidents.
Constable Bramley said the best thing about her new career was that it wasn’t a typical desk job.
“It is something different,” she said.
“Every day I can prove to myself and everyone else that I can do something challenging and different.”
While the new recruits are hoping to one day rise up to higher positions, they know they have a lot to learn before they’re ready for bigger responsibilities.
“I’m so excited to just be here,” Constable Thomason said, who spent seven years getting to this point. “I want to absorb as much knowledge as possible.”
The constables advise anyone who has aspirations to join the NSW Police Force, either straight through the academy or via university, to work hard and “wait patiently for them to call your name”.
“Start early, because it takes a long time,” Constable Josh said.
