POLICE are investigating after a man’s body was discovered under the Denison Bridge yesterday morning.

Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 69-year-old, who was found in the vicinity of the bridge, located between Bathurst Showground and the Great Western Highway, at 10.20am yesterday.
A crime scene was established soon after the discovery of the body.
Police were seen surrounding the bridge from mid-morning onwards as they conducted their initial investigation.
Among those investigating the circumstances of the death are detectives from Chifley Local Area Command and personnel from the Forensic Services Group.
Police spent several hours at the Denison Bridge, with the remaining vehicles seen vacating the site at approximately 4pm.
Up until this time the area had been cordoned off from the public by police tape, but this had been removed by the time the last of the officers left the scene.
