Martin King of King’s Antiques will be on hand to identify items and give an estimate value.
Mr King is an experienced English antiques auctioneer and valuer with 36 years’ experience. His expertise is well known in Bathurst.
He will charge a gold coin, with all money raised to be donated to Daffodil Cottage.
The BATHEX 2015 Bicentenary Collectables, Gem and Mineral Exhibition – Bathurst Remembers 200 Years of History is being held at Bathurst Showground today and tomorrow. BATHEX will be open today from 9am to 5pm and tomorrow from 9am to 3.30pm.
Another special guest over the weekend will be John Duncombe who has become one of Australia’s most proficient model makers.
He will have a display of models he has already created and will be demonstrating his techniques over the two days.
Mr Duncombe has been creating scale models for more than 45 years.
There will also be Morse code demonstrations.
Spokesman Alan McRae said BATHEX 2015 was like a combination of a travelling museum and the Antiques Roadshow.
He said there would be displays of militaria, stamps, coins, movie posters, model trains, colonial firearms, jewellery, campaign and war medals, gemstones and banknotes.
There will also be stationary engines, fossils, clothing, horse drawn carts, shearing memorabilia, old photographs and documents, minerals, sea shells, farm implements, vintage vehicles, antiques, Chinese coins, vintage radios, stamps and magazines.
Dealers and traders will buy, swap and sell all sorts of things, including antiques, stamps, coins, militaria, and books.
Refreshments and food will be available.
