Rounding a tight bend in considerable traffic shortly after the start of the race, two of the $300,000 sports cars became entangled and one driver ended up going right over the top - literally.
In one bizarre instant, the car of French driver Jules Gounon resembled a monster truck more than a prestige vehicle, as it crawled its way onto the roof of Joffrey de Narda's Carrera.

The drivers appeared unhurt, but Gounon later posted a Facebook message in which he said he had two fractured vertebrae, but would be fine.
