The first, a photo of ewe stuck in a tyre (right), was posted to the Western Advocate’s Facebook page on Thursday and it quickly attracted some ‘wheely’ good comments.
“Brings a new meaning to spare tyre,” Deb Downey posted.
“I think it took a ewe turn,” Leanne Frow wrote.
The photo was taken by a farmer in Wagga Wagga who told The Land he was not sure how his sheep had become stuck in a tyre.
“We’ve got some tyres propped up to create a gap between the water trough and the fence. Maybe it’s climbed through?” he said.
But the story quickly got the attention of Bathurst woman Natalie Cole, who shared a photo of a cow in a similar predicament.
“I was just driving along the Turondale road to go to town and we looked over and I said ‘look at that’,” she said.
The cow, which belongs to her grandfather, had somehow wedged its head into a plastic chair.
“When I saw that picture [of the sheep] on Facebook it reminded me of the cow photo I’d taken last year,” she told the Western Advocate.
But, luckily for the young cow, it was easily freed from its plastic appendage.
