The Royal Bathurst Show has long been regarded as the best west of Sydney and has boasted an average annual attendance in excess of 20,000 people. The Show is organised and run by the Bathurst Agricultural, Horticultural & Pastoral Association, a charitable community organisation who for over 150 years have been promoting agricultural activities and all aspects of rural and country life in the Bathurst area. 8-10th April. Cycling NSW Hill Climb Championships.
This championship event covers all age categories for registered Cycling NSW race members. The course starts at Harris Park, Mount Panorama and finishes Sulman/Reid Park. The event is an individual time trial for the 4.1km coursw with the fastest recorded time being the winner in each age category. Saturday, April 9 from 8am until 11.30am. Mount Panorama.
A display of Royal Family Memorabilia.
Royal family memorabilia collected over many year by a local resident will be on display. Items include cups and saucers, mugs, plates, glasses, thimbles and books. There are also letters from various members of the royal family written in response to letters and cards sent to them. This exhibition forms part of the Bathurst Regional Council Seniors Week activities and seniors entry is free if they obtain their tickets from council. Sunday, April 10 from 12noon until 3.30pm. The Family Fun Challenge.
This is a popular event for local families with an 11km course around the Pit Complex and Charles Sturt University.The NAB B2B Cyclo Sportif Challenge incorporates a timed long (110km) andshort cycling course (70km) that attracts elite and recreational riders. Hill End's Historic Buildings Open days provide a rare chance to view up to ten unique buildings, from humble miner's cottages and old churches to the grand residence of Craigmoor, with its original furnishings still intact. The Lives of the Women of Bathurst Female Factory.
Stanley Street Sports Complex, 8 Stanley Street 2pm-4pm. Understand how the convict women who were sent to Bathurst's Female Factory lived, loved and contributed to Bathurst. A Settlers Cottage Accommodation Tour.

BooksPlus invites you to an Evening of Poetry.
BooksPlus, in partnership with local poets and poetry lovers, is hosting a Poetry Night We are interested in building a network of local folk interested in poetry by hosting a series of regular nights where we can gather to enjoy poetry in all its forms. We would hope to invite some well-known poets to join us throughout the year. Poetry is also going to be a feature of this year's Bathurst Writers' and Readers' Festival from 20-22 May at BMEC, so save the dates in your diary. Jackaroo Ranch Riding Camp.
The Camps are for 'horse-mad' children aged 6 to 16 years. Five to six hours per day are devoted to horse activities. One hour lesson and three hours trail riding in the beautiful Turon Valley - with tuition still being given. Previous experience is not necessary as beginners to advanced riders are catered for. We specialise in teaching nervous riders and developing their confidence. Other activities include gold panning, cattle feeding/checking, camp fires and native wildlife spotting. The property abounds with native animals, wonderful bird life as well as being a working cattle farm and quarter horse stud.
