Waterfall train disaster spurred special Kiama exercise

Emergency service workers took part in a simulated train derailment on Saturday, to learn how to deal with the situation. The operation was in response to recommendations from the Waterfall Commission, investigating the 2003 Waterfall train disaster.

Emergency services derailed a train in Kiama on Saturday as part of a training exercise in response to the 2003 Waterfall train disaster which killed seven people including the driver.
