The show, to be held at Bathurst Airport on Sunday, May 15, will feature a host of beautiful bikes and cool cars, along with a static aircraft display and air show.
The event is being held to raise much-needed funds for Lifeline Central West to ensure emergency calls to the charity’s crisis line are answered. This year, Lifeline is on track to receive more than 1.1 million calls for help across Australia, and many of those will be answered at call centres in Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo.
Stephanie and Peter Robinson are among those who have already signed up their vehicles to go on display.
Motorbike enthusiast Mr Robinson has a swag of bikes to choose from, but said his 1926 Ravat from the Loire Valley in France would definitely be there.
“The bike is in pristine condition given that it is 90 years old. As far as I know, it’s the only one in Australia,” he said.
Mrs Robinson said she would be taking her prized 1963 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia to display at the show.
The car was a birthday present from her husband and was imported from Texas.
Lifeline Central West executive officer Alex Ferguson said if entries were anything to go by, Soar, Ride and Shine would be huge.
A number of car and motorbike clubs have already signed up to be involved, but there is room for more.
Mr Ferguson said they are not only looking for classic motorbikes and cars, but also new ones.
Soar, Ride and Shine will run from 9am-4pm on May 15, with the flying program running from 11am-3pm.
