2016 Pillars of Bathurst Announcement. Pillars of Bathurst, adjacent to Macquarie River, Stanley Street 11am-1pm. The new 2016 Pillars of Bathurst, celebrating the lives of past Bathurstians will be announce during Proclamation Day. Bathurst Historical Society. 8th to 15th May Special Exhibition 'Once Upon A Time' - A lovely temporary exhibition is planned to co-incide with Mother's Day this year - 'Once Upon A Time' will showcase the Society's collection of baby's and children's clothes, toys and memorabilia from 1880 to 1960's. Featuring exquisite christening gowns, Depression era clothes and toys, charming outfits and more, this exhibition will feature at the Museum in Russell Street. Embroiderers Guild NSW Bathurst Group Hosting Exhibition of ANZAC Commemoration Postcards. Bathurst City Library 70-78 Keppel Street from May 9 from 10am-6pm weekdays,10am -5pm Saturdays and 11pm-2pm Sundays. All May. As part of the commemoration of the Centenary of the ANZACS an exhibition of postcards embroidered in the style of the silk postcards sent home by the military and medical personal serving overseas during World War 1. These postcards have been embroidered by the members of the Embroiderers' Guild in keeping with the 1914-18 style 'silks'. The originals of 100 years ago were hand embroidered by French women in virtual cottage industries, Soldiers would spend a day's pay to buy them to send home to loved ones. The community is invited to come along and see the display, organised by the Embroiderers Guild NSW and sponsored by the Concord RSL Club and is on tour around NSW for 2016.
