Commuters coming into Canberra during the morning peak were warned to exercise caution after the Woolworths truck tipped off the Barton Highway, south of Murrumbateman.
Live Traffic NSW said the road was closed in both directions about 1.20pm as crews attempted to recover the vehicle.
One lane was opened shortly before 2pm with a stop-slow in place.

It is unclear how the semi-trailer managed to come to rest against the escarpment close to Gouda Creek Road about 7.15am, but Live Traffic NSW reported traffic was affected in both directions.

Motorists in the area reported traffic was moving in both directions but was slow-going.
A spokeswoman from Live Traffic NSW said traffic was "heavy" although the truck was mostly off the road.
A speed limit of 40km/h was enforced around the crash site for most of Friday.
Some used the incident to draw attention to the need to invest more money into the highway.
