Ms Geissmann was the lucky winner of the soil after she entered a competition at Bathurst Farmers Markets as part of the recent Sustainable Living Expo.
The prize was very gratefully received for her large covered garden at Mount Rankin.
The garden is so comprehensive, it supplies her household with all the vegetables they need. She also has a variety of fruit trees.
Ms Geissmann was also presented with some plants for the garden by Bathurst Regional councillor Bobby Bourke who is a spokesperson for the Bathurst Community Garden.
A number of other groups took part in the special celebration as cheque presenters and recipients. All were involved in the Sustainable Living Expo in some way.
Leah Moulden, of Rahamim Ecological Learning Centre, was on hand to present funds raised at their Friday Night Drinks with Jason Hodges to Carenne School acting
principal Jane Croswell. The Bathurst Community Garden was presented with a cheque from council as a thank you for use of the garden for the Saturday afternoon workshop with Jason Hodges, which was enjoyed by a large number of community members.
Standing under a large umbrella Bathurst mayor Gary Rush joked about how it was a great day for the garden.
He congratulated Ms Geissmann on her win and thanked ANL for donating the excellent prize.
