Glass Art Design architecture Opening Night. Bathurst Art Gallery 70-78 Keppel Street tonight 6pm. Groundbreaking glass exhibition showcasing renowned Australian artists, designers and architects GLASS: art design architecture is a major exhibition exploring innovative ways that glass is being used by artists, designers and architects in Australia in the 21st century. Glass: art design architecture will be on exhibition at BRAG from Friday 13 May until Sunday 26 June 2016.

Robert Brain: An Autobiographical Tapestry Opening. Bathurst Art Gallery 70-78 Keppel Street tonight 6pm. One glance of any of Brain's works and it is immediately obvious these are not just run of the mill tapestries. From their witty and often irreverent subject matter to their impressive detail and complex compositions, these tapestries are in a league of their own, as is their creator. Robert Brain and Richard Perram OAM, BRAG's Director will discuss Robert's practice, life and influences during the 'in conversation' event at 5pm before the exhibition opening on Friday 13 May. This is a free event. Autobiographical Tapestry will be on exhibition at BRAG from Friday 13 May until Sunday 26 June 2016.
Bathurst People in Time. Wattle Foyer, BMEC 105 William Street 5pm. A Peoplescape book launch Mayor of Bathurst Cr Gary Rush will launch a book commemorating the Peoplescape project from the 2015 bicentenary celebrations on Friday 13 May. The book profiles the 200 Bathurstians who were honoured in the Peoplescape exhibition in the forecourt of the Court House last May.

Organic Vegetable Gardening workshop. Rahamim 34 Busby Street 10am-12.30pm. Learn how to start your own organic vegetable garden and grow good food at home! Get started on your patch of soil and grow beautiful, fresh vegetables all year round! The class will be small and you'll be able to ask questions, get involved and gain the knowledge to grow your own food. This course is tailored for the region's climate and seasons and is supported by the Rahamim Community Garden. $50 per person including a seasonal growing manual and take-home seedlings. This Sunday will see the Blayney Farmers Market embarking on the colder months ready for winter. As the seasons change and the leaves fall, Blayney Farmer's Market moves it market times to commencing at 9:00 am. The Blayney Farmer's Market is a destination, it is a day out for families to enjoy, a place to go to catch up with friends and support our local farmers. With a huge variety of stalls, such as PeeWee's Bakery, Paling Yards Grove Estate and Milnes of Mudgee, plus live music. It is a market not to be missed.

The Rockley Game. Birth of Women's Cricket. Rockley Mill & Stables Museum and Rockley Sportsground 11am-4pm. Rockley Mill & Stables Museum Committee will hold a re-enactment of the Rockley game, which was a cricket match created for women by Mr O'Hara in the 1890s. Bathurst junior cricket clubs will play matches according to the original rules. The day will start with a short talk on the game and viewing of trophy display. Cucumber sandwiches and tea will be available from the sportsground hall. Call 6337 9279
The roles of Australian nurses in conflict will be remembered this Sunday 15 May during a ceremony in Bathurst to mark the sinking of the Australian Hospital Ship (AHS) Centaur in 1943. Commemorative Service for Nurses will be held from 4.30pm in the All Saint's Anglican Cathedral, Church Street in Bathurst.

Cake Decorating: Easy to Master Fondant. Table and Tea 76 George Street 18th May 6-8pm. In this workshop you will learn how to use the correct tools to get the perfect covering for your cake, along with the skills to bake your own cake at home. You will be shown the right techniques for using fondant and learn the importance of using quality products and equipment. You will leave this workshop with a beautifully covered cake to admire.
