Council partnered with NSW Department of Industry to develop the website to assist local businesses to develop and grow.
The website features available grants/incentives, notification of workshops and business events, economic statistics, business start-up fact sheets, industry awards, businesses for sale and franchise opportunities and key industry contacts.
Mayor Gary Rush said the Bathurst Business Hub website aims to assist established businesses as well as people contemplating starting up a business in the region.
“Council identified that the Bathurst business community needed a dedicated online resource where applicable business information could be sourced. With the assistance of NSW Trade and Investment, the Bathurst Business Hub concept has been developed,” he said.
Cr Rush said the hub is an extension of the Bathurst Business Hub Facebook page which went live in May last year.
It also links to Bathurst Business Tube and the Business eNewsletter which is sent out each month to a database of approximately 1000 businesses.
Cr Rush said the Bathurst Business Hub website will also provide information for local residents and those living outside of Bathurst.
“It will promote education and provide an update on activities and opportunities,” he said.
“There will also be information around aspects of running a successful business with links to various grant applications.
“It is seen to be an effective way of council continuing to interact with an promote business and economic development.”
Cr Rush said that for a minimal investment of money and resources, this new project will be a very effective tool for industry and business.
