Magistrate Michael Allen issued a Section 25 warrant for Darren Edward Clark, 50, of Abercrombie Drive, Bathurst, after he failed to appear before court on May 9.
Clark was charged with driving a motor vehicle while disqualified.
Mr Allen convicted Clark in his absence and issued the warrant.
Police facts tendered to the court told how, at 4pm on April 12, 2016, Clark drove a motor vehicle on a road during a period of disqualification.
Police said Clark was driving a gold Holden Commodore along Brilliant Street when police activated their warning signals pulling the car over.
Police introduced themselves and told Clark his actions and the conversation between him and police was being recorded. He was told he had been stopped for the purpose of a random breath test, and police asked for his drivers licence.
Clark was unable to produce a licence telling police he was disqualified.
A subsequent breath test produced a negative result.
When questioned why he was driving, Clark told officers his partner was sick in hospital and he had to pick up some money from a friend.
Police checks revealed Clark was disqualified from driving at Bathurst Local Court from January 18, 2016 until July 18, 2021 as a result of a conviction of drive with a prescribed illicit drug in oral fluid, blood or urine.
