Back for its 11th year, the full-day tour on Sunday, June 19 will wind its way though the region’s best wineries and restaurants.
On the day, tour participants will enjoy one entree, two main meals and a dessert, all matched with a local wine, as they tour across four locations.
And new to the line-up this year is Morish Morsels who have been matched with Mount Panorama Estate Vineyard, which is back for the fourth time.
Morish Morsels’ Chris Ringrose was involved in last year’s Wander as one of the Algona chefs, but this is the first time with his new company.
“Matching food and wine is the hardest part, you’ve got to do it so it doesn’t effect the taste on the palate,” he said.
And despite gentle prodding, Mr Ringrose would not reveal what is on his menu.
“The menu is always a surprise until people get to the locations,” Wander co-ordinator Greg Tucker said. “It’s a nice way of doing it because customers don’t know what they’re getting until they get here.”
Mount Panorama Estate Vineyard’s Lee Baxter said she was pleased to be involved for the fourth time.
Sitting mid-way up Mount Panorama, the venue on Mountain Straight boasts big views back across Bathurst for this year’s tour participants.
“Everyone loves the location, even on the cold days ... it’s hard to get them to come inside and eat,” Ms Baxter said.
Among the other pairings this year are Winburndale Wines and Le Gall Patisserie, Renzaglia Wines is paired with Al Dente, Vale Creek Wines is matched with Whole Food Kitchen, Stone Pine Distillery with Restaurant 9inety 2wo, and Abercrombie House will host Three View Vineyard.
