The new real estate agency is believed to be the first in the nation to offer 3D virtual tours of its listed homes.
Director Troy Kearney said his agency secured the new tool by visiting technology-based shows in Sydney and building relationships with the designers.
As a result, the agency now uses Matterport’s advanced technology to create to-scale 3D immersive and interactive floor plans of homes.
The Pro Camera does all the work, capturing the property in minutes to produce Matterport Spaces without the need of a highly skilled photographer.
Buyers are able to access the home via a link and navigate through it as if they were really there, going from room to room and having 360 degree views of its features with the “dollhouse view”.
Mr Kearney says he has found that marketing homes in this way attracts “more qualified buyers” to open homes who are genuinely interested in the property before they actually arrive.
For vendors, this means they can have a better chance to sell their home quickly, instead of having it sit on the market for months.
“Our vendors are absolutely loving the experience,” Mr Kearney said.
With more Sydney buyers looking to regional areas such as Bathurst to settle, Matterport’s technology is a way to attract their attention.
Mr Kearney said Century 21 has already generated interest among these buyers from the 3D virtual representation.
“We’ve had people who’ve come up from Sydney feel like they already know where they’re going, know where the bedrooms are, the bathrooms and the amount of space [the home has],” he said.
“A lot of our buyers are coming from Sydney and it’s harder for them to come to open homes, particularly in winter when they don’t want to drive on the roads, so they can see the house first.”
Mr Kearney expects it won’t be long before other agencies in the region start using Matterport’s technology after they realise the difference it can make to their listings.
“It is a very expensive technology, but it is something we see the value in for our clients,” he said.
